Sandusky Standoff 911 Call Released

Sandusky, OH: Erie County Sheriff Paul Sigworth's department has released the terrifying 911 call made by the wife of the man held police at a standoff last weekend.

Gerard "Gary" Moore, 60, of Homegardner Road, remains in stable condition in the intensive care unit at Firelands Regional Medical Center. This after he shot himself in the chest after a nearly day-long armed standoff.
Moore allegedly tried to kidnap his wife at her Sandusky home and threatened to kill her. She fled, police said, and Moore fired a gun at her as she ran off.

As reported by The Sandusky Register, Moore remains at the hospital as he recovers from his injuries, but he was served with his warrants there this morning at 7:20 a.m., according to Sandusky police Chief John Orzech.
Moore is now considered to be in police custody, and Sandusky officers will guard him 24/7 until his hospital release, Orzech said..

LISTEN: Ohio police release 911 call about hoax hostage "swatting" situation

Parma Police Department, Ohio
Parma, OH: The cleveland.com is reporting that the Parma Police Department have released the audio of a hoax 911 call in which a man told the dispatcher that he had already shot his father and was holding his mother and sister hostage.
The man, who sounds rather distressed on the call, called 911 at 8:20 p.m. and told a dispatcher that he along with having already shot his father, he also claimed to have his father, sister and his mother tied to chairs.

Parma officers and the department's SWAT team surrounded the home but discovered that the call was a hoax, Lt. Kevin Riley said.
"I just shot my dad in the stomach with a 12-gauge shotgun," the man said during the call. "He's in the bathroom right now. My mom's in the bathroom and so is my sister. They're all tied up."
Investigators released audio of the call Monday and are asking the public to help identify the caller, Riley said.

At one point in the call, the tension rises very quickly when the dispatcher asks for the caller's name; he threatens to shoot the rest of his family.

Investigators have said they believe the hoax is  an example of a trend called "swatting," which involves reporting life-threatening emergencies in the hopes of bringing in a SWAT team and a large contingent of first responders.

Police also say that this is not "prank behaviour", and have asked people to listen closely to the 911 call (embedded below) and contact the Parma Police Crime Tip Line at 440-887-7340 or by emailing crimetips@parmajustice.net

WATCH: JODI ARIAS INTERROGATION VIDEOS FROM JULY 2008

Note: These videos were made over two days in mid July 2008. They were admitted (in part) by prosecutor Juan Martinez in the case of the State of Arizona versus Jodi Ann Arias. They were submitted to the court in January 2013 as evidence of the evolution of Arias' stories as to who murdered Travis Alexander in June 2008.
They are essential viewing for trial watchers, as they show the first two of Arias' story as to how Mr Alexander ended up murdered in his shower. The first story, of course, was that Arias wasn't anywhere near Arizona on the day of the murder, the second story came on the second day of questioning, when she told Detective Flores that she had been there, but that Travis had been killed in a home invasion by two intruders.
The third story, of course, of domestic violence, self-defense, came a lot later. And by all accounts this "admission" of guilt came only after both Kirk Nurmi and Dr. Samuels (Dr. Fog), pretty much told her that nobody was buying the intruder story!
